| This is probably the best vampire series I have ever read. It's about Vicki Nelson, a Toronto cop turned detective when a disability forces her to quit the force. She meets Henry Fitzroy, the illegitimate son of King Henry VIII, who died at age 17. Vicki has to learn to cope with Henry's vampiric nature and with her feelings for both Henry and Michael Celluci, her ex-partner. The plots are interesting and Tanya Huff has a wry sense of humor which she often injects into the stories. Be warned: there is a certain amount of cursing and sexual references, but it doesn't generally detract from the story. These books are the basis for the new Lifetime series Blood Ties, in which Henry is ever so cute. There are also six of them, so they should keep even a voracious reader occupied for awhile. | |

| I've seen most of the second half of the TV series.
I LOVE HENRY XD!!!! KYAAHH!!! He is SOO cool. He's my idol among vampires. Mostly because he's a professional comics artist. @_____@
I've reccommended the TV show to my friends!!! i wanna red the books so bad now.
Darnit...i've got too many books to read already....well, i'm at the library....and that's what libraries are for right? To overload yourself with books and pay the fines later.

| I really love Tanya Huff's wry humor and how she makes Henry sweet, funny, and sexy all at the same time. For example, at one point Henry burns his hand in the sunlight. A concerned friend soon asks, "What did you do to your hand? Were you cooking?" Tanya Huff's next lines are "Something like that," Henry said, while sternly telling himself it wasn't funny. He must not have kept the smile off his face, because [the friend] asked, "What's the joke?" "Nevermind," Henry replied, turning away." It's times like that that make the books so funny. I love how even though Mike is a 6'4" burly cop and Henry is a powerful vampire, both of them are afraid of Vicki's temper. Unlike most other vampires, Henry doesn't regret what he is. He loves his power, though he sometimes waxes nostalgic and tells a sweet story about a past love, but he's not mopey. Incidentally, the comic books thing is a difference between the show and the books. In the books, Henry writes cheezy historical romance novels. The TV show also doesn't include Tony. Still, I really like it, and they might not make any more. | |

| So i bought the first two books. I'm reading the first one right now (on top of two or three other books, not including all the manga i'm reading)
I prefer Henry as a comics artist. I just like the idea of him having a creative flair like that that includes drawing pictures.
I haven't gotten too far in the books yet, just to the 3rd chapter or so. | |
